This afternoon we did something we haven't done in a good number of years. We went to a high school production of "Peter Pan." Our neighbor's son was a pirate in it. They had bought the apparatus to make the kids fly and they were truly enjoying it. There was so much enthusiasm on that stage. They did five performances, today's being the last one. We enjoyed ourselves very much. As we were leaving the building the cast was in the lobby to sign autographs and greet the audience. The neighbor boy came up and gave me a big hug and said he was glad we came. They were all shaking hands and hugging people. The play lasted two hours. Dustyn still had to come home and change and go to work. He's a good kid and works and does well in school and was in the play and ran cross-country track. His mom is hoping now he'll have time to sleep. dooley
Dooley, it is so nice to hear of talented, enthusiastic, hard-working young people! I hope you gave him an extra hug for all of us here at GardenStew! And what a great neighbor you are to take the time to attend the performance. A hug to you, too!
I haven't been to a high school production since I was a young child. I remember them being magical occassions full of fun and laughter - not only from the audience but from the cast too. I'm so glad you enjoyed 'Peter Pan' Dooley. Dustyn seems like a lad to be really proud of. I hope he finds a little time for himself to just relax and 'chill.'
Eileen, his mom is hoping he'll have time to sleep. He's hoping he'll have time for a girlfriend. LOL. dooley
It's nice to do something totally different once and awhile, isn't it? It sounds like you guys had a good time ...and so did the young actor.
How sweet of you to show your support and honour the boy's hard work. I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves. Girlfriend indeed. Well, the young people have their priorities I guess.
