And we love it! Lovely area here. The kids are enjoying being able to go out and play nearly every day. I've not seen much of my new community but what I have seen is orderly and well maintained. Tons of shops which, of course, makes me really happy I hope to get out and explore more soon. I'm nearly done with unpacking and moving 500 miles was surprisingly uneventful, if not tiring. I see I have a hydrangea next to the porch as well as a huge fern and some japanese boxwoods that I dislike. I have two magnolia trees, one holly tree, one fig tree that is alive and one being propped up by a wooden rail. It is mostly dead, dead, dead. I've not really had time to take photos for id help but I will soon If I never move again, I'll be happy lol Glad to be back! Dena
You must be so relieved LittleSister! Moving stinks at the best of times, but you moved 500 miles! WOW! Have fun exploring your new gardens!
Hi Dena. :-D Sooooo glad the move went smoothly for you all. It sounds as though you have inherited quite a few interesting plants. Are Japanese boxwoods anything like our British boxwoods do you know? If they are you can always topiary them into some cool shapes. As the seasons progress you'll probably find things popping up that you never knew were there - we did when we moved in here and it was fun seeing what plants emerged. Once all the unpacking is finished I think you deserve a day out and a little shopping trip don't you?
So you are in Mandeville now? You are really close to me and not far from Richard and Sharon. We have you surrounded. Be very afraid.
If there is anything I can help you find, let me know. Find my phone number on my web page (link is below in my signature).
Welcome to Louisiana Sister, glad to have you instate at last. I know how relieved you must be now that the move is over. Can't wait to see photos of everything.
Welcome back, Dena. I'm glad the move went so well. I hope that you and your family find more and more to love about your new home every day.
Jan, thank you! I may end up calling you once I get settled in more I'm so excited to be here. Yep, I'm in Mandeville. I really love my quiet neighborhood. So different from what I left. I didn't sleep the first night for the lack of noise I was use to! I just feel sorta bad that dh has to travel kinda far for his job...well maybe only bad cause he has to cross the causeway every day twice lol I'm so looking forward to a day of shopping. I got a magazine with all sorts of shops listed and have made a list even. Thank you all! I'm so happy my internet is on so I could come catch up on the 1000 + new posts lol Be looking for a new blog post soon with pics! As lovely as the house is outdoors, it's even nicer indoors. I let my dh pick this house out and hadn't even seen it in person until the day I moved in. I feel very lucky he knows me so well.
Glad you got that accomplished. It's fun to dust off the old stuff and put it in a new place. Makes it all look so different. Hope you love your new place. It sounds great-the sound of silence is fabulous.
Once again, Dena, feel free to call. I am about 25 minutes east of you. The Causeway is a devilish thing to have to deal with daily, but living in Mandeville beats living in the city by bunches.
Dena, glad you are happy with the house DH picked out. Really looking forward to the pictures of the inside and of the plants you find hidden around the yard.
Wecome back Dena glad you are all in and almost settled .I am just waiting to see allthe great pictures you will have for us.I am a neighbor also just a little farther away than they are.
