He was born the 2nd of this month. We drove up to see him on the 5th and visited for 5 days. It was a lot of fun watching the new parents learning how to take care of him and, yes, it was very hard for me not to interfere...! Of course he is the cutest and sweetest...and also the loudest! Our newest (5th) great-grand child. And his proud daddy!
How wonderful for you! The new parents will do fine but a gentle suggestion now and again might not go amiss. He is lovely--what did his parents name him?
Well, I did interfere when my grand-son was changing him and walked off to get clothes...and left him on his back. The baby burped and started chocking and I had to help. I did advise him to never leave a baby flat on his back un-watched or where he could roll off, even though that will be a little while down the road. Also, normal for new parents, they had the baby, Vander by the way, so wrapped up that he was sweating and I did suggest that they dress him no warmer than they are. He is so cute and also very loud! Even though our bedroom was on the other side of their small home, we woke up every time he cried. VERY vocal!
What an unusual and attractive name your Great Grandson has - I like it!! I'm glad you enjoyed your time away getting to know him.
He is sooooo cute. Just wait for the first time Dad forgets to change a diaper quick enough and gets it in the face. Both my girls were little balls of heat as babies, no blankets or they would be miserable. I was looking up the different meanings of Vander.....in English it's Archer, in Greek it's Good Man.
Awe how sweet! Congrats to everyone you are all truly blessed to have this little one added to your family.
He's just adorable.....some weapons grade cute right there!! What is your great-grandmother name? A couple of my friends are greats, and both are called Gran-Gran. I don't know if that's a sort of regional/southern thing, because I've never heard that before, or if it's typical.
The Great Grand kids have always called me Grandma. It hasn't been confusing as my daughter lived in Texas and was unable to see them as often. Now that she has moved back up here we will probably need to make a name change. I haven't really thought about it. In our family we had a Granny, a Big Mamma, a Memaw. and a Nanny. I could pass as a Big Mamma but would much prefer Granny or Nanny I guess. Maybe I can get the Great grands to call my daughter Granny! and I can stay Grandma.
