France?? Goodness we have a passle of world travelers here. If anyone needs a baggage handler or child wrangler on one of these trips please let me know.

Did you do the tourist thing in Paris or wander thru the countryside and small towns?

France sounds nice. What did you do and where did you go? :D

I haven't been to France for 26 years, so I guess it's time soon. Toni, do you like roundabouts, roller coasters and such? If you do I could really do with your assistance.

Thanks folks. We could only squeeze in a weeks vacation as Mark has just started a new job and could only fit in a week, plus our finances have been rather tight of late, and we wanted a holiday, but it was on a shoestring.

We mananged to get a great last minute deal on a Gite and our ferry crossing, and drove to the Vendee region of France, close to a resort called Jard Sur Mer (http://www.ville-jardsurmer.fr/) but far enough away for life to be pretty and quiet.

We have doe the Paris thing before Toni, a few years ago, but I would like to do it again when we have a bit more money, now that the kids are a bit older and can appreciate it more.

We crammed a lot in, zoo visit, aquarium, boating, even a visit to a huge potager garden. (http://www.jardinez.com/Parks-and-garde ... 8760f2c95d)

And every afternoon we went to the beach. The beaches in the Vendee are glorious, long and sandy. Tidal coast line, good Atlantic waters with fab waves which the children loved. We spent a lot of time in the sea and building huge sandcastles waiting for the tide to come in and fill the moats.

I am currently downloading 606 photos, so bare with me and I will resize and get some posted. :)
