This plant has been in my garden for years. My late wifee said it was a weed. No matter how She tried to remove it it came back !!. Isn't it a beautiful flower. Can anyone please name it for me. Thank you.

My daughter is fond of telling me that it's only a weed if you don't want it growing there lol!!

I've actually taken a few "weeds" and used them in some of my pots, to great result! I'll have to take some pictures so you can see.

Yep, it is only a weed if you do not want it in your yard. I do not know what your plant is but it is really very colorful and cute. I let Henbit do it's thing in early spring..it dies back as the temps rise but I love it and look forward to it every year.

I am guessing it is a variety of oxalis. I have one similar in light pink flowers with burgundy foliage. does it have scaly rhizomes for roots or little bulbs or is it a fibrous root system like a petunia or tomato?
https://www.pacifichorticulture.org/articles/oxalis/ the very first one is the color I have.

I have Oxalis every where in my yard ! Wish I had more places to put it ! It does look like oxalis blooms ! Mine makes round pom poms of blooms every year ! Love it ! It is a very old plant that my grandmother and likely yours had growing ! I call them heritage plants !
