The squash seed I ordered from a vendor recommended by Netty arrived today! The squashes aren't really weird, just varieties that aren't all that usual around here--Longue de Nice and Zapolitto del Tronco. I can hardly wait to get them growing!
The only thing better than getting seeds in the mail is getting a start, transplant, or seeds from a friend.
If I don't start showing some restraint, we're going to have to plow up another garden spot.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how they grow for you. I always find it fascinating seeing what others have in their gardens. :-D

MG--let restraint be for everyone who isn't a gardner. ;)
It seems like you are on a good path here. I too really am interested in seeing how these turn out for you.

If and when the squash start to produce, I'll take photos and post them here. The seeds are organic, and open-pollinated, so with luck :!: I'll be able to save some seed and spread it around with gardening friends.
Sojerd, thanks for making me feel less guilty about having to plant everything I see!

Netty, we moved from just under a half-acre in town (heavily planted, as you can guess) to a 9 1/2 acre farm. It's a wonder I haven't gone bankrupt and harmed myself with this much room to indulge my passion!
