I thought this was some kind of fungus on another plant. I have seen it for a few years now down at the lagoon. Well, I decided to take some pictures and found out that it is a flower. The flowers are hard to see, so I went looking for some. Half way down the flower picture on the right, there is a beetle, I missed seeing that till I saw the photos, would like to have a photo of him.

I had no idea there was more than one variety of dodder...the stuff is awful, but fascinating to see it and know how it grows...all at the same time. I saw a PBS documentary I think it was called "do plants talk?" it was totally a great doc. to watch. I have seen it a couple of times and every time there is something new I didn't catch before.

I think this is the doc... http://video.pbs.org/video/2338524490/

I've seen a similar plant on the coast around here. To my shame I didn't think it was interesting enough to take photographs of.
