Was just outside and it is sunny but cool at 50 deg F. I have a Vinca blooming along the driveway. And the Guara is still blooming it's heart out and loaded with buds. It isn't really protected that much either but I found the data card that came with it and it said that it is hardy to -10 to -20 deg F so I am sure that has something to do with it. We have had 4 hard freezes so far, including this morning. When I was in town this morning, I saw a puddle that had a skim of ice on it.

    Captain,
Our Guara is still blooming to in Minnesota. And we have had several hard freezes with snow. Amazing plant.

Karen, how long have you had yours? We just got ours in July and it has been blooming ever since we planted it. If it makes it through the winter we want to get some more and plant them along the bank of the driveway.

I believe this is the first year. It was planted by my predecessor on the condo garden committee. She is no longer around so I can't say for sure but it isn't on the spreadsheet that she gave me for 2008 or 2007.

It was cold here this morning too!
I planted a Gaura for the first time this year and wasn't sure if it would survive the winter. I sure hope it does!
