I'm so sorry I haven't been around for quite a while.

We've had major problems with our telephone, broadband and internet.

To cut a long story (fairly) short .... the overhead telephone line came down in gales - they fixed that BUT our telephone still wasn't working. While they were checking the line at the exchange they discovered that someone had trapped our wires in the cabinet door. They fixed that and we had a 'phone connection again. :-D Of course all this meant I had no internet connection. :(
I went to the computer and switched it on but nothing happened!!
I don't know why but when we got our telephone back up and running the BT home hub decided it was going to pack in. :'( We had to wait for another one to be delivered and then for our broadband to be re-connected.
So at last I'm back and keeping my fingers tightly crossed that nothing else is going to go wrong for us.

I'm off now to attempt to catch up on the 306 posts that have accrued while I've been off-line.

Sure missed you Eils. I actually seriously considered sending you a hand-written letter (i.e. snail mail) as digital communication wasn't getting through.

Happy all is well and welcome back to Stewland!

I certainly did miss you! I am glad that you and Ian are alright--that's the main thing.

The various providers here keep trying to get me to take their full packages of telephone-internet-television...but I refuse I do not like the concept of having everything under one umbrella, so to speak...whereby if one thing goes out the rest can also be affected.
    I keep them separate.
I don't know if that is an option for you guys there.

I sure hope that now that you are re-connected that things will stay that way and that you can merrily get on with communication. :)

These things are so annoying, aren't they!

    Anyways--welcome back!

Eileen...I was thinking you were on a fun holiday. I did miss you. Sorry to hear you were just frustrated at home. :(
Its scarey how dependent we are on our technology. Glad you are back on line.

Well THERE you are!! Kind of figured it was telephone/internet problems keeping you quiet the last week.
    Good to have you back.

Ha ha - both of us AWOL huh? Glad you got it all sorted. Hate the whole technology thing - I have no idea how the internet comes to my computer....tis all magic you know. :) Let's hope the gales blow away somewhere else so you don't have lines down again.

It makes me feel all warm knowing that you all missed me while I was forced to be away. I didn't realise just how much I relied on my telephone and computer until they both went down at the same time. Here's hoping everything runs smoothly for me from now on as it was a dreadful week being away from you all.

I haven't missed you, but don't hate me for it. :D I've been a lurker for weeks, or maybe months. See, I've already lost count. So I have no idea who's posting and who's busy. But I'm certain I would have missed you if I were here on a daily basis and you were absent without a pre-disappearance report. :D
