I had a wedding to attend yesterday, at which I was also the photographer, so my gardening plans had to wait till today. It was a lovely day yesterday too, a little breezy but the temperature was mild and a good day to get out in the garden. Deferring my gardening plans to today is not working. It's nasty, wet and drizzly outside. The rain is intermittent, but it's just so dreary and overcast, and much cooler, and it's completely killed the enthusiasm I had for getting the mulching done, and laying more stones around the circular part of my garden. Mother Nature is clearly NOT cooperating....at least in my little corner of the world!
The weather is not cooperating here either Ronni. I need to do some work on the new chicken coop that my son built. There are gaps that we missed, and the wild birds are getting in and then cant find their way out again. I need to fix that, and do lots of other yard work.
Ronni, I feel your pain, and my husband does, too! He wanted to watch the car race in Bristol, Tennessee, but it seems it is rained out. We have gentle Texas zephyrs blowing at 35 mph, so any outside work today is cancelled. Darn!
Poor, Ronii... not happining here either. Today isn't even above freezing. Tonight is supposed to be 15f. grrr! I just put all my tomatoes, pansies, strawberries and a few others out in the greenhouse and I am heating it with an electric heated. $$$$$$cha-ching$$$$$$!
I did notice the rain that we had all day yesterday was headed to the north east to you must be having it today. But, we have the wind that we didn't have with the rain and thunder yesterday. I'm surprised we haven't landed somewhere to the north of here. The windmill is really spinning and turning in circles like the wind can't decide which way it wants to come from. As cold as it feels it must be coming from the north pole. dooley
We all seem to be suffering from horrible weather as it's been cold, dank and windy here all day. I only managed 15 minutes in the garden before my hands started to go numb with cold. A nice hot cuppa warmed both my hands and my insides though. :-D
Our front path melts every other day or so, then refreezes again. I keep applying liberal amounts of sand to the fresh ice. Our front entry way is becoming a sand dune.
