    Had a nice looking butterfly on the deck today, a Western Tiger Swallowtail, Papilio rutulus. Had to try to get some pictures of it. It is a big butterfly.

    I've only seen one of these beauties in a butterfly house over here. They really are BIG with a wingspan of 2 3/4 - 4 inches (7 - 10 cm).

    Yes, they are about 4 inches. We have three species like this one, the Anise usually uses our fennel to lay their eggs.
