After a dry week with temps. in the mid to high 80's F., now it's wet and cold. This morning when I got up, it was 60 F. and now it's 53 F. with a wet mist and wind out of the north. The temp. is 53 F.
We had rain last night at a 1/2 inch. It must have come straight down. The hummer feeder was showing about 1/4 inch of juice in it yesterday. Now it is up to 1/2 inch. It's diluted so the hummers haven't drank out of it all day. Tonight it's supposed to get down to 45 F. and only to 49 F. on Mon.

With precipitation now falling from the sky now totaling 1 1/2 inches and continuing through the following week, it would seem that we are now all wet, except for the southern desert area. We need to divert the rain south to Texas. My seedlings now sprouting, know only damp, cold, rainy weather. They murmur "where is the sun?" They will not dry out anytime soon.

I had a dream the other day that the 2 days we had in the 80's were our summer and that fall and winter were kicking in again...

If only we could have some rain. We haven't had any significant rainfall in our part of Essex for well over 6 weeks and my allotment is starting to resemble a dustbowl. The farmers have their huge hoses out watering crops, even the RHS garden at Hyde Hall had sprinklers on watering today. I fear a water shortage for us this summer.
