2011 has been the wettest year on record for Central Ohio. We have had 154 days of rain this year with at total of 54.40 inches of rain. And there is still one more day to go. In fact, it's raining as I type! A normal year is about 35 inches of rain per year.
If only you could have sent those extra 20 inches of rain to places that needed it! Mother Nature is so fickle some times.
Shows, we had the driest Summer here. On average we had about 1 inch of rain per month from May until November. Some of the local rivers stopped running at all. We were told that we needed 3 feet of rain over Winter to bring the water table back to its normal level.
I would believe it! My honey has been working on the Smuckers plant in Orville, OH, and he is always reporting precip in one form or another. =)
Yep, wet is the only form of weather around here. I just said last night, your choices here are wet, wetter, or rain again tomorrow. Song of joy, you husband is not telling you any stories, Smuckers is straight down Rt. 57 about 15 min. from here, and it is raining almost every day or going to rain the next day, hardly ever any sunshine to speak of. The only two days it doesn't seem to rain all day is Saturday and Sunday, here . I feel bad for these construction projects that are going on, they are sooooo far behind due to the rain. I thought today was supposed to be nice and it is raining as I type I have a lot of outside work to get done today, I hope it clears out some or at least quits raining.
On the other end of the spectrum.... even with the good rains we've gotten recently, we're going to be finishing the year with a 25 inch deficit.
Lake Lavon is our largest water supply lake, it serves 1.6 million people in north Texas and is over half empty. All of those trees are supposed to be completely under water. My area is ending the year 10+ inches below normal rainfall and La Nina has taken up her position to rule the weather again next year.
