This is our garden two weeks ago or so. http://s703.photobucket.com/user/Owdboggy/story/7707 and this is it yesterday. http://s703.photobucket.com/user/Owdboggy/story/7671
Oh....I think that second one is what ours is supposed to look like tomorrow night according to the weather guessers. Sorry, We all seem to be in the same weather pattern. Sad isn't it?
Wow what a difference, the order is all messed up! That just shows that Mother Nature can't keep her kids happy. She has all this left over snow she does not know what to do with. Someone has to get it. Last week we got some, this week it's your turn. Now she is stockpiling 90°F days. Perhaps we can figure out how to mix snow with 90° weather and get a 75° day with a summer shower. We would all be happy. Jerry
Just to add that it has not stopped snowing since I took the second set of images and the snow is now a foot deep. Nothing I know for parts of the world, but it is the deepest we have ever seen it here. The Fruit cage netting has ripped under the weight, as has the Woodshed roof (corrugated iron and 3 inch beams snapped). Now we have deep frost forecast to go with it.
Our garden looked like that this morning as it had started to snow before 7am.After depositing a fair bit of the stuff all morning it has completely disappeared and he roads are dry again-just in time for the frost tonight...crazy,crazy weather.
Oh dear Eric it looks as though some of our Scottish weather has reached you. I hope the snow stops falling soon and it thaws quickly for you.
The weather lately is down right weird. And most disappointing as it is the flowers that suffer from the unseasonable storm. Just when they start to provide hope for the spring. Perhaps the snow will melt fast and we can get on with the advent to summer. Jerry
Still snowing now after a sharp frost overnight. Beginning to feel that perhaps it was a good thing we had not been able to clear off the old top growth, as at least it will have protected the new growth. Crawled on my hands and knees under the woodshed roof to get enough kindling and logs for today.
Oh dear! Your poor garden! i hope you can resurrect your shed roof when the snow melts & I hope you don't lose to may plants. BTW the "bones" of your garden are lovely: paths, vistas, a cool court yard area (?terrace). I'd love to see photos when your garden recovers & is full bloom.
Whoa!! I just checked out your garden photos on your 'page'. Amazing! You & your wife have created a beautiful spot there. And I got a kick out of the various names you have for different parts of the garden.
Went for my walk this morning, even though it is still snowing. The barn roof at the farm up the road has collapsed and the beams in there are over 12 inches across. Heck of a weight of snow to do that. Glad you enjoyed the garden Cayuga. Hopefully we can get it back to best condition this year. No sun and too much rain last year made it very hard to keep it in good condition.
