I am not able to post pics. yet, unfortunately, so i'll be as descriptive as possible. It is a bulb plant; multiplies ( the ones I dug were just massed & entwined underground). At this early stage in spring the stems are about 4" high & leaves look very much like oriental lily, but I looked at the orientals just coming up in my garden & the leaves on mystery plant are much smaller, although same shape. Leaves are a med.-light green. I searched on google but found nothing that looked much like it. Any ideas? Pretty sure it's a spring-blooming bulb of some sort. moderator's note: added a more descriptive title to topic
Probably neither of these but I'll make a stab at guessing anyhow. Could they be either Grape Hyacinth or bluebells? Both have clusters of bulbs and leaves that are similar to lilies but much smaller.
Might be bluebells.... grape hyacinths have been in bloom here for almost 2 weeks, so these plants should have had blossoms, if they are hyacinths. I'm not too concerned; I like just about everything..... just wanted to know how tall they got, so i'd know where to place them in flowerbeds. Maybe i'll just plant them in a separate place for this year & watch what they do.
