Truth be told, not much at all. I'll give you a few examples. I have to admit that my husband's 45th anniversary crisis is a lot more useful than my 40th anniversary crisis. Goodbye hedge: I've tried to find out what the fox says. This one goes *sniff-sniff* and *crunch-crunch*: I've been riding several times per week, but I sometimes have to fight for my right to the saddle: Even though Halloween isn't a big thing in Norway we always try to make the trick-or-treaters welcome. This one was on the outside of the door: And this one was on the inside of the door: In case anybody wonders: Yes, it's me. Why should the children have all the fun? I practice my evil cackle all year, just for this one evening. I've also had to struggle with people un-named, but Mark Twain sums it up nicely: We've got frost, rain, frost, rain, a storm, more frost and rain, another storm, and maybe we'll get some snow, or at least sleet, some time next week. Yay for winter.
Well hello there stranger!! It looks as though you've managed to keep yourself busy since you were here last. I love the photograph of the fox cub - is there a story attached to it or was it just a visitor to your garden? It's good to know that you managed to get hold of the saddle now and then so that you can keep your riding skilled honed. Cats just don't do so well with stirrups do they? I like to say you look stunning in your Halloween make-up but I'd be lying. If you'd opened the door to me looking like that I'd have run a mile. Now that the hedge is down what are you going to do with the space you've cleared or is it to give you a better view without it blocking the way? We seem to be experiencing the same kind of weather that you're having. How I hate the short, dark days and am already wishing spring was on its way. The rain and overcast skies make them even worse to endure. I could do with some sunshine to cheer me up. I never argue with stupid people - maybe that's why Ian and I get on so well. I hope you can find the time to pop in again soon Droopy and keep us up to date with all that's happening with you.
Great foto's, miss--You really HAVE been busy, haven't you. That fox is supurb. I couldn't help but notice that garment the cats were lounging on--That isn't really garden gnome attire nis it....annnnnd-- are you in reality a garden gnome yourself?! That lovely foto of yourself, may just be a ruse to mislead us. For that matter, perhaps you are a 'magical' garden gnome that can turn herself into a vixen...and your kids caught you on film. One simply never knows what goes on way up there in the land of the midnight sun. chuckle. At any rate...lovely to see you (in all your forms).
Hi Droopy, great to see you! What is the fox's story? I have my own fox story and I'll share it sometime.
Great makeup! Did you get any visitors to scare? Aww,what a sweet little fox,and so close too.I think the kitties are telling you not to go riding...
Thanks cheryl, nice to see you too. Hi, Eileen. The fox cub showed up at my mother's door, asking for something to eat. I think it has a problem in one of the hind legs and my guess is that somebody in the neighbourhood had fed it. It's now a regular visitor and seems to like puppy food. Fortunately it's still shy and keeps a polite distance. The hedge was diseased so it had to go. We're going to make the acid soil border a little bit bigger but haven't quite decided if we want a new piece of hedge or if we're just going to leave it as it is. Hi, Carolyn. Unfortunately the day only has 24 hours, but I've applied for a couple more. ;-) Hi there Sjoerd. You've got the best theories, but unfortunately they're all wrong. Hi Frank, please share your fox story. I'd love to read it. Kiasmum, we get lots of visitors, but that might be because some come twice. The children seem to like my effort to scare them, and they seem to like the pumpkin cookies I dole out along with the candy. My middle girl is starting college next autumn, and the youngest is starting junior high so they have to make an extra effort regarding homework this year. Since they're not happy about it I try to whip up some enthusiasm by making for instance history fun. It takes a lot of time most afternoons, but needs must. Fortunately I'm blessed with lots of imagination and I think I'm succeeding. They can't think that I'm strange since they already think I'm half crazy.
Hi Droopy! I was wondering where you had been, now I see you have been very busy! That's quite a digging machine you have there, it would be very useful in my yard! Great fox photo! I had a 2 fox friend's at work this year. They are very cute and are great at keeping bunnies away from the garden Kitties sleep in the darnedest places! We've had rain, wind, rain, wind, snow and wind here. Not looking forward to winter!
Hey Droopy, glad to see you again. I am just now getting better enough to sit at the computer for any length of time to read and respond but I have been thinking of you often when I haven't seen you on the forum. I like the 'new do' but the Smoky Eyes makeup needs a bit of practice.
Hello there Netty, nice to hear we're not the only weather-challenged people. Shared misery etc. you know. The digging machine's just the right size to use around the garden. If it had been bigger it wouldn't have been any use at all. It's very old, which means there are no fancy electric gadgets and my husband can tinker with it to his heart's content. We haven't got any wild bunnies up here, so we can't hire the fox as a bunny chaser. We would love to get rid of the roe deer but I think they're too big for the fox, alas. Hi toni, I knew you weren't on here the last time I checked in and hoped to see you around soon. I'm so glad you're getting better. Please heal quickly! You're welcome to help me with my Smoky Eyes-look, where shall I send the plane ticket? ;-)
Thanks for the chuckle Wish I had gotten something done besides work this fall, but it is always my busiest time of year and it seems to pass by way too quickly. I am always saying I should get photos of the fall foliage but then it is on the ground and gone.... Yes that fox photo is great...did he live in the hedge? Living on puppy food seems to agree with him.
Hei Jewell, as long as you yourself find time to enjoy the colours every autumn, eventually you'll find time to snap some photos. The fox didn't live in our hedge. It has taken up residence somewhere near my mother's house. It has grown a lot this autumn, and I hope it will stay around. I think it keeps the roe deer away from mum's plants.
