After I got the house cleaned this morning the three of us went out for lunch and then drove north to Denton to visit the wine bar owned by a friend of his. Had a glass of wine, visited with the lady working there today. We had hoped some of the small junque shops might be open but they weren't so we headed back home. Lisa, Kenny and the boys got here just a few minutes after we got home.
The boys each drew me pictures..Nicky's on the left, Austin's on the right.

I hinted to Randy that I really needed a good butterfly ID book and a Texas Wildflower ID book. I had one of each already but they were far from comprehensive.
He and Amanda went shopping at HalfPriced books last week and they gave me three of each type.

Lisa knows I am a NASCAR fan and my favorite driver is Michael Waltrip. He has driven car #55 for a couple of years but there is not much available with that number but his earlier car was #15 and she found a small Diecast car and this parking sign :-D
Also found the small wood plaque with the beautiful dark red Texas.

After pizza, brownies and gifts we left Amanda and the boys inside while the four of us went out back with glasses of wine and enjoyed a bit of evening breeze and the view of my garden. This was really the perfect way to celebrate my 61st birthday.

Nicky and Austin's paintings are really lovely Toni. I like gifts like that and still have drawings my kids did for me when they were little. Those books are going to come in very handy. I do sooo love to get books as gifts.
I'm so glad you enjoyed your 61st birthday with your family - they make the day extra special don't they?

Happy Birthday Toni!!!!!! What a lovely way to spend your day with family. I LOVE home made cards. I used to get candles or art books now I get plants. Last year I got a outside sink with storage and work area. Congrats on your 61st Birthday.

What thoughtful gifts. One reference book is Never enough. Bright pictures from budding artists and ending the day with wine in a beautiful space you created.
