I miss fresh tomatos warm from the sun, sweet corn drenched in butter with salt and pepper, butterflies flitting across the flower patch and setting in the sun and swinging in the swing. Whatdo you miss most?

I miss the birds singing in the morning, the sun rising early and setting late, the smell of Roses out in the garden. I miss wearing shorts and T's and walking barefoot in the grass. I also miss the veggies fresh from the garden and good fruit.

I miss the warmth, no matter how little we had. The chill and wind and all the rain takes it's toll on my mood.

I will miss seeing the butterflies that grace the garden, the beautiful flowers that brighten the landscape :stew2: and family vacations to the beach 8) . I will not miss the mosquitoes that were in abundance this year.

I miss the dawn chorus, the colourful birds and butterflies, the flowers in peoples gardens and the long, light days.

If summer ever comes to an end here this year I can not think of a single thing I will miss about summer. ;)

I, too, will miss the butterflies and also the fireflies. I love walking out in the morning and hearing the chorus of birds. Grasshoppers I won't miss!
I love making the early morning harvest of herbs or vegetables, then spending the afternoon hanging to dry, chopping, mincing, and freezing and canning. I love the smells of summer!
I love gathering the honey in late June or early July; extracting it from the combs and having the entire house smell of honey; and lining up the golden jars in the pantry. It's also nice when those golden jars are purchased and that lovely green comes in!
I love all the seasons here on the farm, and when one goes, another comes with its special blessings.

The only thing I miss are the long days. I hate waking up and starting the day in the dark, and I hate night closing in at 6pm or earlier. Depresses me no end. I love the changes in the seasons and the different animals, smells and jobs that come with them....I just hate the lack of daylight as summer comes to an end. :(

I miss walking barefoot across the grass, and the warm dirt between my toes, and how every day there is something new to see and something pretty to smell.... I miss the long days... and I miss the laid back schedule at work that gave me more time to hang out at the Stew... I miss having time to hear about everyone's life and garden...

It's still like summer here. Warm to hot days.
But you can tell Fall is on it's way. I'm looking forward to it!

All these things that everyone has mentioned about summer, I too will miss.
I have had a wonderful, productive summer this year. I love summertime! We have really had beautiful autumn weather here, but I prefer warmth. I am not looking forward to the cooler temps, less daylight, and my plants being dormant.

I miss the open windows at night with the smell of honeysuckle coming in on the breeze, going barefoot, listening to the peeper frogs down by the swamp, the smell of the air, the early morning sunshine, the humming birds and dragon flies, the taste of those fresh tomatoes. I could go on and on :)
