As a former resident of upstate NY, all I can say is "Yuck, Snow!" and be glad I'm in Texas. You didn't deserve this, Donna. You should be snow and ice free, also!
A little snow a little ice. I'm from western NY and yuck is right. At least I know it will be gone by noon.
Donna, Schools are closed? not in Medina county would they close the schools unless that was ice. Today I see a brine solution on the county roads for the first time, ours included, which must be a new piece of equipment for us. I hate the brine solution for the wear and tear they put on the cars, but the roads are ever so much cleaner/passable than without it. They can't put down salt at the beginning of a storm, then they are playing catch up trying to keep up with the new accumulations. I don't think there is snow in the fore cast, but come Monday it is supposed to get cold. Monday or Tuesday night is forecasted for 5f. and only in the teens from Mon to Wed. Get ready...Usually it passes by us and on your direction. You may not get the bitter cold, but I would guess it will get colder for you than it is now.
Carolyn, We do not have the equipment to clear roads of ice and snow. They maintain major highways but country roads are left until when ever. So schools get closed as a precaution. And locals do not know how to drive on snow an ice. So I just stay home.
