    It is aquilegia. They are lovely, I love the color combination.

    a.k.a Columbine, I love them too :D That is a beautiful color combo. You can definitly find them in other colors. They also have double-petaled varieties :)

    With any luck you can sow or let them self-sow in your garden. A friend years ago gave me some double petal types. They self-sow in any disturbed area. I usually weed out a lot of them, but try keeping my favorite colors (purple, bi-coloreds, and pinks/maroons). Your's looks like the colors of a native columbine here in the Puget Sound region. Very pretty.

    My aquilegias self seed and I love having them in the garden. They come in so many wonderful colours nowadays and the doubles are gorgeous. I don't have your colour combination but I certainly would love to have it in my own garden. :-D

    It's a shame you don't live closer to me, Caige. I am giving away a lot of dark purple Columbine. It re-seeds itself throughout my gardens so it is everywhere.

    That's a beauty. I too love aquilegias and like Eileen have loads in the garden all different colours, single and double ones. They self seed Caige so I don't think you will have to do anything :stew2:
