A closer and clearer photo would be great, so many houseplants have that same growth pattern. A close up of a leaf would be helpful too.

It looks like something I was plant sitting for a friend. At her request, I repotted it and divided it. All divisions are doing fine.
Peace lily. I've never tried to divide one, but someone gave me their very sick one instead of just throwing it away. I cut all the dead leaves and stalks off it which left it almost bald. Took a while but it came back lush and full.

From what I have read you just take a sharp knife and cut the root ball in half or thirds...depending on how large a root ball you have. Then loosen the roots and repot. If it's moist enough you could probably skip the knife cutting and try to tease the roots apart by hand.
Hi Donna, Maybe Toni is right, to use a knife. I just knocked the plant out of its pot and pulled apart some of the stems and corresponding roots. It sounds more complicated than it is. If you get the plant out of its pot, and eye ball it, it'll be easier to figure out how to divide it. I just looked at what size pots I had, and made the divisions that size. I don't think you can really kill these things. I think they are pretty resilient. Good luck!
