what is this succulent

i was given a cutting of this succulent. it is similar to mother of pearl.
can anyone tell me what it is called and how to care for it

 

Looks like a burrows tail to me. Just like any other succulent...much neglect and little water and a bit of fertilizer now and then.

If inside, next to a sunny window should keep it looking good.
