Mine would have to be "The Birds" by Alfred Hitchcock, and coming in second, "Play Misty for Me", with Clint Eastwood.
I have no favorite horror movies .I don't like them and never have in my life.I know everyone else probably does but I just can't watch them.
I like "The Shining" and also "An American Werewolf in London" (although the latter is more black humour than horror). I used to be deathly afraid of horror movies when I as younger but it's amazing how immune you become to them. Although I have been told that fear comes back as you get older
Glendann, I don't particularly like them, but the family does,so I watch with them sometimes. Frank, The Shining was good, and so is Misery.
Living on Prescott Road with the Deliverance people living downstairs. From Sharon: An inside joke, but the Deliverance people really did live downstairs.
I'm such a scairdy cat, so I don't watch them at all. I'd have nightmares for a month! I think the last one I watched was Interview With A Vampire which I thought was pretty good at the time but my heart couldn't take it now, lol.
I'm not great with movies, not because I am scared, but because I find it hard to get into them as I know there is a film crew, make up lady, runner, director, extras and so on, all sitting there watching it. Guess that's what comes from working in the music and film industry for 10 years. I wouldn't be able to narrow it down to one.....Event Horizon does give me the jitters, but for an interesting twisty thriller type, it has to be Sixth Sense which I LOVE!
Never have been into the horror movies. The Birds is a good one, but the book will give you a better feel for the horror of the situation at the end. When I was 6, the original (1951 version)of The Thing came out...not the remake. This one had James Arness (later Marshall Dillon on Gunsmoke) as the Thing. I spent the whole movie with my eyes closed it scared me so bad....I didn't actually see the movie until about 20 years later. When Alien was on cable in the 80's, it took Lisa and I watching it about 6 times to see the whole movie. Each time we would watch a little bit more until we could stand to sit still thru the whole thing.
I don't have a particular favourite and most of the horror movies for a while now concentrate on gore rather than story. However, I did like 'Salem's Lot' back in the late 70s/early 80s, starring David Soul. C.J.
I'm not a huge fan of movies about butchery. But something about The Shining makes me say it's a good horror flick. I like suspense better. The Sixth Sense was great. Also, I like some sci-fi types. That Space Odyssey film was good as was The Andromeda Strain. Muddy
I couldn't get through the "Shining" either the movie or the book either one. Now I have watched plenty of horror movies, but am not a big fan of them
Has anyone else ever see "They Saved Hitler's Brain" I think it would make a great double feature with "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes."
