Mine is creeping Charlie. I have dug sprayed for all most 40 years. Cleaning off flower beds past 2 days. Sticking it's tongue out at me-Mr CC.
I've been pulling loads of Creeping Charlie too!! It gets into my groundcover and then I can't get it out...drives me CRAZY! Also have thistles popping up all over the lawn.
One year put newspaper and many bags of mulch. In no time on top. Go to pull it and mulch goes flying.
No Charlie here!! But the Bindweed and Cheesy Weeds are everywhere. Dig and Spray, Dig and Spray. Just when you think you have won the game! Bam there it is again. I am on top of it but I have NOT won the fight! YET!!
MUGWORT, bittercress, dock..those I think are the worst for me, but the mugwort seems to be impossible to eradicate....I sure hope none of you have to battle it. It looks and smells like chrysanthemums :-x ,only there is no flower to speak of. Those are the ones for today, next week may be something different.
Galium aparine (Sticky-willy, Goose Grass, Catchweed Bedstraw) It's pretty much everywhere, anywhere it sets it's little heart on becomes it's den of iniquity.
I think mine is crab grass :-x At least that's what we call it. It sends out sharp, barb-like runners and gets everywhere!!!
i would have to say horsetail (Equisitum arvense). . . .one of the most persistant i have encountered, i'll be glad to leave it behind when i move :-D
At my house, I don't have much of a problem except dandelions which thrive so easily... At work I battle a lot of different weeds. Bindweed, nutsedge, creeping charlie, and a host of others. Dig, pull, dig, pull... Job security
Soon to be the bane of all gardeners, Persicaria perfoliata is working its way to a garden near you. You will not like touching it much less getting it to let go of you once you pick it up. Its one redeeming attribute, it is an annual. I had 4 plants arrive last year. I killed them all. The birds love the blue berries and will deliver free of charge several samples to your neighborhood. Established populations have been located in many northeast states as well as Oregon and Alabama. It's only a matter of time. Jerry
I also have dandy lions. I can remember youngest want to make some $$$. Helped him pick Blossoms. They make wine out them At Amana Colony. All day long-had picnic. Never again we did that for what he got paid.
Is Bindweed a vine ? I think I have it-haven't asked at Ex. Office. Has purple bloom like morning glory-what I have.I clipped a lot in past year. And put in burning barrel.
