What kind of houseplant is this?

    I recently purchased a houseplant from b&q but it wasn't labelled so I dontknow what it is or if I'm giving it the right care? Could someone please tell me what kind of plant this is please?

    Hi, looks like a ficus, a great house plant when given correct care,there is plenty of info. on line which you can study...good gardening!

    Yup, definitely a Ficus Benjamina. I have several ... they can grow quite large.

    One thing to know about Ficus, they can be finicky. They will drop their leaves if they are moved from their favorite spot, or if conditions change. Good luck with your's. It looks nice and healthy.

    Yes. But if that happens, don't give up, just leave it alone until new leaves show up.

    They can prove to have quite a resolve, if cared for right. I've had a microcarpa moclame and it lost leaves of two out of three branches growing up from the ground due to some sickness and then it was even moved several hundreds of kms by car and it's still alive.

    We have one in the lobby of my office building. Some previous tenant abandoned it many years ago. The businesses is the building have gradually adopted it. It has grown so huge, we have had to hack it back numerous time as it begins to graze the ceiling. All of this is to say they are quite hardy and can put up with indifferent care. I have heard what Cherylad had said: they don't like change.
