A couple more from our adventure at Hyde Hall. Can you see what Jessica spotted? ( photo / image / picture from EJ's Garden ) It scurried in front of us from the pond and then sat in the cropped grass looking very chilly. Although it was a sunny day, there was a keen wind and the clouds kept drifting over. I think he needed a warm hole. Fieldmouse? Mousemouse? A little mouse with clogs on?? I have no idea. It was lovely and plump though. What a cutie.
Isn't it amazing what kids will pay attention to? Ours are the same. We stood watching the rhinos at the zoo but the girls were busy watching a mouse running around below us gathering up food bits the spectators had dropped.
I know that mouse! I have them in and out of my shed all the time. It is not a Dormouse, I don´t think...judging from it´s tail. I think their tails are more fuzzy. I don´t know. It´s very cute whatever type it is.
Almost looks like a packrat but not sure. It has the large cheeks though so maybe. It looked healthy for sure, hopefully it managed to get warm. Great job catching it on film.
Awwww a little field mouse - brown on top and white underneath. We have them living in the garden and they're good at clearing any seeds the birds let fall from the feeders. I've watched ours on many occasions - guess I'm still a kid at heart.
A fieldmouse - thanks Eileen, I will tell the kids as I had no idea. He was a wee little bundle - seriously cute.
