Mine had to be this hollyhock. I planted it a year ago, but it didn't bloom, but this year it did! It is a double pink and it looks more like a mum than a hollyhock.

Mine has to be this sunflower. I can't remember planting red sunflower seeds. It was the only red one to grow in the garden this year.

Boy is that ever a pretty sunflower! Most of the red ones I have seen over here had orange mixed in with them1 I hope you saved some seeds for next year! That would be a keeper in my garden!

    MY Surprise

    Hello all,

I don't have a digital camera to show you....but this season I had a hollyhock that grew past 10 feet high!!! I couldn't believe it!!! It reached the bottom of my upstairs window sill!!! I just have to get a camera!!! It is too frustrating without one!!! LOL

P.S. I gathered the seed pods from this one specimen....if it is allowable by law, I would be happy to send seeds if anyone is interested. They are white with maroon centers and have a frilly white stamen and they are absolutely loaded with pollen! The bees adore them! :)

I am bringing this back to life! HAHA!

My biggest surprise would have to be....

    ummmmmmm
My two elephant ears. One turned out to be black background with green vains and the other is purple star in center, laced with purple trim and purple stems.

But I have to give my morning glory a spot here too.
I planted seeds for a deep blue background with a purple star. It come out light blue background with a purple star. Very pretty.
