It has been soooo very quite on the forum lately that everyone must be doing some pretty interesting things. Not me but some one out there must be! So I was just wondering what everyone is doing during this last full month of summer.

I am avoiding a migraine by staying inside out of the heat. I made soap today, have been making infusions, extracts and hydrosols of some of my herbs, Knitting and browsing thru online plant nurseries dreaming of what I will be ordering for fall planting.

Took the kids to the flicks today to see the last Shrek movie in 3D. 3D movies always make me feel a bit sea sick. Friday, the kids, mum and me are off to West Sussex for a week. Some quality time with my mum as it was 10 years since my old dad died on Monday, so we are going to get away from it all.

Not much here. We had storms come through about 3 am and got 1/2 inch of rain. Then more storms this afternoon with anothe 1/2 inch. Supposed to have more storms early tomorrow again. So about all I have done today is watch tv and read.

I've just been really busy at work and with the kids. A full time job, 3 kids-2 of whom play soccer, and my own yard to tend to. We had a few family get togethers but not a whole lot else really. Fair season is approaching so we will most likely go to those. And back to school time is sneaking up on us too :)

I have taken vacation to harvest, process, make jams and freeze stuff to eat for the coming year.
Long days and short nights at the moment...but I continue to read posts.

We are off to South Bend for 4 days...my husband's family reunion. Our daughter's wedding is Oct 2 and every weekend in August is booked with pre-wedding showers and bridal events. In between I am trying to keep the gardens alive in this heat & drought.

It's been so darn hot that I don't venture out much. After work in the evenings I try to sneek out for a few minutes to water and visit with Jazzy cat.
I manage to read posts and keep updated on all this good stuff :-D

We're playing in the dirt. My husband is playing with the small digger, and I'm playing with sphagnum bricks, ground cover, newspapers, bark chips and dirt. I'll post a thread so you can see.

The weather's been fairly nice for a change so we're outside all day, and we're so tired in the evenings we just sit and glare into space. :D

I've been busy making Christmas cards (yes I know it's only August but I have sooo many to do  ) and calendars. Also clearing out the pond and keeping up with the never ending weeding.

August have always been my second least favorite month of the year, it's nice to hear how others spend this month.

And I knew there had to be at least one person working on Christmas things already ;) The youngest grandson was asking if I make sweaters last time he was over, don't know if he was hinting or not but since I made he and his brother two quilts each in my quilting days I guess I need to knit them something too.

Ahh, gosh. I love August! In our family, we celebrate so many birthdays this month.(including mine) It's kind of like a continuous party :p I am truly a summer girl.
I know, it's hot and sweaty out there, but by now, I'm so used to it. I just keep wipin my brow as I work...
I rearranged my containers and continue to deadhead, prune and fuss over all the pretty growing things. The tomatoes are ripening and we are enjoying BLT's and other fresh tomato dishes.

Been working on the home of the water lilies. Also working at the family home; helping one of my brothers staining and installing some doors at his home.
Work has been really busy too. Plus Hubby is out of town for a while, so I have to take care of the mowing, etc at the trailer park.
And lots going on with family stuff: my sis-in-law just passed away; and hubby's brother is in the hospital.
