Finally had a chance to go through the camera and download the photos I've been taking. So... this is how things have been looking around here... 4 o'clock ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) Lily of the Nile ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) The Big Pot ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) Caladium ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) Cosmos ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) Damianita Daisy ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) Quick little story about the Damianita. When I was on the hunt for Natives, this is one that was a must have. I even drove into Houston to buy it! Drought tolerant. Loves the sun and heat. I had a hard time finding a place for it in the blazing sun, so it's been in this pot. I think next year it'll get planted right there and I'm going to be vigilant about gathering some of it's seeds too. Save me a spot on the swinging seat and I'll bring the adult beverage. That looks like a great place to just sit and watch the day go by. Your plants all look so healthy and happy!!!!
You have a beautiful garden with such a variety of gorgeous flowering plants. It must be a real pleasure to sit outdoors and enjoy the view you've created.
Gad Cheryl, your garden looks really nice in the foto's. Man, you are so far ahead of us here. I found the Cosmea and the Hoya looking particularly sweet.
Hi Cheryl, I loved taking the pic tour of your pretty gardens. It all looks so nice and well tended. I'm sure you enjoy relaxing out there and watching the ways of nature! Thanks for sharing.
Everything looks so nice and tidy, yet colorful and inviting. I think I could spend quite a while strolling around there! I love the Hoya
Toni... you have a deal! Which side of the swing do you prefer? LOL Eileen... yes indeed... I love all of the different plants, the shapes & colors. And If anyone is looking for me while there's daylight... yep... that's where I can be found. Sjoerd and Netty... That Hoya is so different from any of the other plants I have. I get tickled when it puts on those waxy blooms. Kay... It's where all of my spare time goes. Even pulling weeds can be pleasurable if you're surrounded by flowers, butterflies, birds... even the squirrels and rabbits. Thanks Barb & Tina and everyone else!
Looking great again this year. Love the Hoya. And hope my Turk's cap looks like yours. I have 3 that made it through, but they are still pretty small.
Cheryl, you have done so much with your yard in the last few years. I can't hardly believe the transformation. Kudos!
Hi Cheryl,..beautiful to see so many blooms i can not grow here,..love those islands you made and i see lots of rocks you managed to get,..very impressive.
Thanks Donna! Sure hope the Turk's Cap grows well for you. The one I started from seed is only about 6 inches tall. Thanks Carolyn! I look back at those original photos and can hardly believe it myself. Thanks Philip! Those islands kinda made themselves. LOL started off with just one plant and then another and before I knew it, it was a bed. The rocks have to be bought. So I'm glad all the beds are lined. That means more money for plants.
