Gorgeous flowers Julie. Share more of the Hollyhocks please, I finally have some of the standard ones growing but I have my doubts about them blooming this year even they are supposed to be two years old already.

Oh Julie I just don't know which piccie is my favourite. I love the delicate colours of your columbines, roses of sharon and the hollyhocks. :D

We can only grow glory lilies as greenhouse plants over here so I'm rather jealous of the fact you have them in your garden!!

    Thank you Toni and Eileen!
Toni I will definitely save some of the hollyhock seeds for you. The hollyhocks I purchased at the garden center are not doing well either. This is my first hollyhock I've had to grow for me so I'm really excited about her, and the fact that she was grown from seed makes her that much more special!
Eileen maybe if you plant them in a pot out on your patio and then dig the bulb for winter and store it until the next spring they would be ok there!

I gave a bulb, as a gift,to Clint in Holland Julie so I'm waiting to see if he can grow his Glory lily. If he can then I'm definately getting one for myself as they are so unusual and beautiful. :-D

Oh I hope they do good for Clint so you can grow them too!:)They are so amazing to watch bloom! They change from yellowish green to the bright red and yellow as they open! Their petals also curl back as they open! Here is another pic of it with one of the blooms starting to darken and curl back along with a fully open bloom.

I do think if you plant them in a pot and dig the bulb for the winter they will do good for you Eileen!

Beautiful. I just love hollyhocks. I start a few seeds in August every year. This fools them into blooming next spring.
I wonder is it too late to get one of those great liies? 8)
