I got to thinking that gardeners probably have different things in their pockets than "normal" folks. My work jeans pockets contain string, a few seeds, a hankie, a small pair of scissors in a sheath, and a pencil stub. What's in your pockets?
Right now-kleenex. But in summer time might find about every think. + have bucket with all the just right tools. And rag hanging from back pocket.
Right now...chapstick, I am having quite a time with dry lips....I really don't carry much in my pockets in the summer...maybe a cell phone if I am too far for my regular phone to be heard....now when my son was growing up, I was always worried about sticking my hands in his pockets, fearing it might be something that moved...
I just put my pants on so all I have is a Burts Bees chapstick and nail clippers. Im sure by the end of the day Ill have money, cell phone, maybe some jewelry, and lord knows what else... Just added a Cadbury Creme Egg (to my jacket pocket, not my jeans pocket lol), a camera and a Lithium Ion battery (waiting for the bf to give me back the other one I loaned him hehe) xD
Right now I have my multivitamin to take with lunch I normally drag my old wagon around the yard so my pockets are clean
A packet of Polo Mints,..a bunch of keys,..a small penknife,..two shotgun cartridges,..an old sock,..to hold coins from making noise when i hunt and some dog snacks, .
Weeeelll, interesting subject,my pocket contents are seasonal.During the winter I have string[all seasons]handheld secateurs so I can get rid of rain and wind blown damaged leaves or flowers,a tissue[never leave home without one]and some grit and stones leftover from the plant cutting that I planted. Summer is a different story ,there could be a tomato or two, a corn cob, some fresh beans[just enough for a meal]more string, same secateurs, and this week there is several passion fruit, no not large pockets just bulgy and tight!
Do apron pockets count? I usually don't have anything other than a tissue in my skirt/pants pockets, but in my apron pockets, a knife, pencil, dirt, more tissues, plant tags and of course change for the road stand, a market or eggs.
Keys, wallet, pocketknife, cell phone, supersize handkerchief, lint, crescent wrench, pliers, ratchet, sockets, nails/screws, screwdriver, hand pruners, dirt, seeds, weeds, roadside trash, spark plug, soda/beer can full or empty, .22 or 12/20 gauge rounds, batteries, dog lead/collar, potholder, kitchen towel, depending upon which pants, day of the week, and task at hand.
My pockets are usually empty. Except on the rare occasion that I'm "really" waiting on a phone call, then I carry the cell phone with me. If it's really hot, I usually have a bandana in my back pocket to wipe off the sweat. For years I did carry an old silver dollar from my dad for good luck... but that has since been retired to one of the piggy banks. Geez... I have boring pockets!
This is fun to read and hear about what's in our pockets. I usually don't have anything in mine, it would probably go through the wash, and I don't want that. After I get finished working, I often have dirt down in them
Kay, I know what you mean about pocket contents being laundered. I've washed my husband's Uncle Henry (it's a knife brand, folks, I don't stuff our relatives in the washing machine) several times.
