@Logan nice lavender. I collect the flower heads , let them dry then sprinkle a few on the floor when I vacuum. The whole house smells fresh. Have you tried lavender ice cream. It’s very refreshing this time of year. Lilies and dahlias are poppin today. Caught the bumblebees slumbering in the dahlias.

So many flowers are eatable as well as decorations and included in recipes. I never knew about eatables until I got caught up with the gardening bug. . Now let’s talk eatable insects. Eco eats has a variety of chocolate covered insects all set in handy packages for snacks. Like chocolate ant brittle, ant wafers, or cricket crisps. It’s just a google search away. Yummm Me .. Not going there , I really think I have been gardening way too long to put any insect in my mouth intentionally. There had been a few cases when bugs were unintentionally swallowed with overwhelming horror. Or one stuck in my ear…I don’t care how much Vit or minerals they claim why they are good for you. If I want chocolate I’m sticken to real food. Admen do tend to get carried away when advertising these products. Well second thought I do like a well prepared French dish called Escargo…

I bought a bag of cricket flour. I read they are an excellent source of iron, and I am iron deficient. I used it to make chili. It wasn't terrible, but not that good, either. I thought about using it in cookies. But eating too many cookies isn't good for me either. I fed it to the chickens. When I was volunteering, delivering meals, sometimes someone would put out snacks for the volunteers. One time they put out bags of these. To be honest, I'm a bit of a chipaholic. I liked these too. If they were in stores, I would buy some now. I thought they were pretty good. I figure, shrimps and lobsters are basically like giant ocean insects. So why not the land versions? My coworker, one of the kindest, nicest, people I have ever known, was Thai / Lao origin. Oh boy after looking at the link I think my tummy just flipped a couple times. It’s one thing to camo bugs with chocolate but another to have a full layout service with no food source to disguise it. That spider really flipped me out. There are cultures that eat a variety of foods that we have zero familiarity. I think everyone knows about Mc Donald’s burger and fries. It’s all relative. I know I cannot even look at some of those bugs as food in the referred link. Reminds me of the Asian civit cat coffee beans. Just more oddities that attract attention. One cup of coffee is said to cost $100.00. Yikes. No Comment.
