For me it was when I was in my Swedish language course a few years back. My classmates were all of varying ages. We were asked to complete an exercise and then discuss it as part of a group. Our group couldn't decide who would start the discussion so someone suggested that the oldest should start. After about a minute we figured out that I was the oldest. What shocked me most was that I was also older than the teacher. Speechless I was So when did it hit you?
When my kids started having kids. When I say, do you remember when.....and nobody does. Cause they weren't born yet.
When it took me all day to dig a garden spot that I was used to doing before lunch and having it half planted, too. dooley
When I looked at pair of HIGH heals shoes. Said if I wore them would break some-thing for sure. Also when I told Doctor had been painting house on 40 foot ladder-and she Said "at Your Age" I use to like her.
A few years ago when I had an RA (rheumatoid arthritis) flare that lasted for nearly 8 months. Hands, feet, ankles were so swollen and painful that I could barely function. Eventually medication got everything under control but it sure slowed me down and folks treated me as if I were old. I'm 'only' 59 but at that time I felt as if I were 100.
I was wondering how old was old one day last week and a lady told me that her grandma told her that you get old in 15 years after the age you are now. It's all relative. dooley
When my best friend's daughter graduated from high school. When I opened that invitation I just couldn't believe that sweet baby was old enough to graduate!! Where did the time go??
when I got the darn letter from AARP welcoming me... grrrr (I feel like I stop getting old inside at 33, I liked that age)
The first time i was addressed '"Ma'am". I turned around, thinking the kid was talking to someone behind me!
Oh I hate the Ma'am thing. Our family has a young attitude no matter our age. My Mom who is 88 referr's to the senior's who live in her apt. complex as old people. We will be talking about something and she will say, ya you know how those old people are. We look at each other and laugh. Or she will say to me, I'm to young to have a kid as old as you. One thing that makes me feel older is when you go somewhere and they ask you if you want the senior discount. Who me! Oh yes, I love getting discounts no matter what the occasion.
