This cuke is so big around I cant close my fingers around it! and its about 1.5 inches shorter than my hand. Tag says harvest at 58 days, but Ill be darned if I cant remember when I planted it >_< And believe me, my sense of time is damaged or something...

Now, now, now! Cucumbers get a seed cavity, just like squash do. This cuke looks prime--ready to be enjoyed!
Forget what the tag says--whoever wrote the tag hadn't seen your garden. Cucumbers are best at 6" or shorter, and picked early in the morning before the sun hits them (crispness, y'know).

Grab it! The first one is the best and before you know it there will be so many you will be finding a good one every day!

    Yep, pick it now.
They have to put a days to maturity number on it so they make an educated guess as to what the average would be since it has to cover everywhere. ;)

Put it in the fridge if you are not going to eat it for a day or two. You can leave it out if you picked it in the morning and are planning to eat it same day. I prefer them at garden temperature with salt and pepper. Cucumbers can be eaten at any stage of growth but 5 or 6 inches is best. Be sure to pick yours before they start to yellow,, that make them bitter.
