I cleaned and filled my hummingbird feeders last week. I noticed right away that there were a couple feeding or chasing each other. Yesterday and today there were perhaps 8 to 10 of them but no one was getting anything to eat because they spend all of their time chasing each other away from the feeders. I can see the pictures just fine Dooley. :-D Our blackbirds do exactly the same. If they learned to share then they could all have enough food to keep them going but, as you say, no-one wins when they spend their time fighting instead of filling their stomachs.
I've thought the same thing Dooley. "Why are they fighting over one feeder when there's another one on the other side of the yard?" Silly little birds.
