Hi all you gardeners who are "suffering" through the long dark days of winter. Just want to tell you we are "over the hump"!

From winter solstice to summer solstice the daylight just keeps growing. Here in AK we are gaining about 5 minutes every day. :D That thought just keeps me going... :stew1:

I'm happy for you! We've got light to see by as late as 16.30 now, and it's only getting better.

We have a few extra minutes here too and as the bulbs are all beginning to sprout in the garden I certainly feel much more cheerful. :-D

We too have a measureable amount of ëxtra" light now. Just enough to read the seed catalogues by ;)
I can still remember how it is this time of year in Alaska. I lived and worked there for five years once and found it one of the most unforgettable places that I have ever been. Such a wealth of natural beauty. I still have some slides of the wildlife and flowers. Remarkable.

I haven't really noticed the extra daylight yet. I HAVE noticed that my gardening hands are getting mighty restless! It will still be a few months before they can actually play in the dirt.

today is the official end of the darktime here. Starting tomorrow we should have an hour an half of light,, hopefully the sun will start to come over the horizon sooner than usual... that would be so nice. we get light now, but the sun isn't officially rose yet. Lets hope tomorrow i see a big ball of yellow in the sky,,,lol. but we don't usually get more than an hour, hour an half all month in january, even tho it will say we are gettin more, we don't see it.

So yeah Spring is on the way!!!
