Quick question about picking broccoli.... When???

This a.m. a small yellow flower is about to open on one stalk of broccoli.

Should I pick it or let it get bigger? After I pick it, is that it for the plant or will it make more stalks?

Use your instincts, and I agree

I would say use your instincts, and I agree that if your broccoli begins to flower you should pick it right away. Do not wait too long from that point because otherwise you will not have any broccoli at all.

I would say observe the size of stalks that are sold in a grocery store and let it get about that big. You may even be able to harvest each plant more than once, as I did two summers ago at my dad's home.
