To day the folks that do our pier came and installed it for the summer. When they had finished I went down to inspect and see how things looked from the end of the pier. I took the camera along. There was an interesting sky, and I took a few shots of a tree that leans out over the lake, and was in some unusual light. I looked around, and spotted an Eagle gliding high over the far shore. As I watched, the eagle started to get closer, so I set the camera to auto focus, and a fast shutter speed. The Eagle was getting closer, and when he got close enough for the camera to get some sort of picture, I started shooting. As I shot, he came right toward me, and flew right over me, and then off into the woods, and to his nest I imagine. Here is the series of pictures that I took.

Sorry, the picture when he was right over me is out of focus, I was stumbling about on the pier, and didn't want to fall into the lake, and missed that shot. He was maybe 10 feet above me, and I could hear the air that his wings beat against.

Lovely series of shots. Your eagle is very majestic. I can almost hear the wings beating as he's flying past.

Oh I'm so glad you took your camera with you Tom as you managed to get some excellent shots of the eagle. Thank goodness you didn't end up in the lake as we wouldn't have been able to see the flyover and the water might have been a tad chilly. ;) :D :D
