To day the folks that do our pier came and installed it for the summer. When they had finished I went down to inspect and see how things looked from the end of the pier. I took the camera along. There was an interesting sky, and I took a few shots of a tree that leans out over the lake, and was in some unusual light. I looked around, and spotted an Eagle gliding high over the far shore. As I watched, the eagle started to get closer, so I set the camera to auto focus, and a fast shutter speed. The Eagle was getting closer, and when he got close enough for the camera to get some sort of picture, I started shooting. As I shot, he came right toward me, and flew right over me, and then off into the woods, and to his nest I imagine. Here is the series of pictures that I took. He was maybe 10 feet above me, and I could hear the air that his wings beat against.
Oh!!!! isn't he a beauty. They are so majestic and graceful in flight.Thank you Tom for all the wonderful photos.
Lovely series of shots. Your eagle is very majestic. I can almost hear the wings beating as he's flying past.
Oh I'm so glad you took your camera with you Tom as you managed to get some excellent shots of the eagle. Thank goodness you didn't end up in the lake as we wouldn't have been able to see the flyover and the water might have been a tad chilly.
Beautiful, regal and majestic bird. I feel as though I should place my hand over my heart. Almost gives you chills. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, your so lucky to have one fly right over you. I bet it was more amazing then your pictures can show. Great job on getting those pics. :-D
They are the most beautiful bird..we have them around here too...it sure stops the little birds from flying for a while. Thanks for sharing your great pictures..
