I was on the allotment this afternoon (blog updated :-D ) and couldn't believe how dry the ground is. I actually had to water my seedlings, something I don't normally have to worry about until July! Where are the April showers? I don't think we have had any rain during April yet. As much as I worship these sunny hot days, as a gardener, I long for nights full of slow, warm, steady drizzle to help things grow.

We've only had one very short shower of rain this April. I've been watering my hanging baskets and seedlings for about a week now. Really strange weather for this time of year. However, good news - it's supposed to rain at the week-end. :-D

The April showers have been here in Ontario EJ! But they call for a beautiful weekend so I'll send the rain over!

There has not been one rainy April day here in Malmö. A few showers and that's about it. As far as I can remember there was more rain last April.

Even after the recent storms, we are still about 4.5 inches behind in our rainfall. :?

We've had enough rain showers but hopefully the weekend will be dry. Yesterdays wind finally dried up some of the yard so I could walk across it without sinking in.

You can have ours! We have only had about 4 or 5 dry days this month. About the time the yard starts to get dried up, it rains again. We are supposed to have sunny dry weather through the weekend and then showers Mon, Tues, and Wed. But it's supposed to be warm. It will probably throw in a tornado for good measure!

We haven't had any showers, either. We've had deluges!! Not only have we had pouring rain, but 60 mph winds!! Went to check on the cats this Tues. Next door neighbor wanted to update us on what happened to the seedling pots. The wind caught the table they were on and they all went flying. Into the neighboring trailers. And the big pots flew into the neighbors'cars. Many dents. Not so many seedlings, now.

I don't know if I have enough time to start over from seeds: tomatoes, peppers, eggplant.

The peas came up weeks ago, but stopped doing anything at about 4 inches high.

Plus, we can't afford to buy the dirt for raised beds. I almost think I should just give up on fresh veggies this year. It might be safer.

I just feel LIke I'm only 4 inches high. Who knew gardening could be dangerous to the neighbors?

I know where the showers are. Here. Denver had 2.25 inches of rain yesterday, more than we usually have all April.

And it wasn't a nice warm spring rain. It was driving rain, sleet, slushy snow, regular snow, rain mixed with snow, and wind. A lot of wind.

My umbrella broke yesterday morning. It was miserable trying to get home last night.
