Me too. Just doing some plant page work and dreaming of much cooler weather....maybe even rain someday.
We had 2 1/4 inches of rain last week, which we needed. But didn't need the high winds. Lost the top of another tree in that. The rest of the tree will have to come down, once it gets cool enough to cut it. They say highs in the 90 's every day this coming week.
I was here this morning before going to my friend's nursery. Had a coffee with her and got 24 marigolds for just £4. Came home, planted them up and then pruned some trees and cut the grass. Just finished a sample batch of wedding invitations for a couple. Hope they like them and place an order with me.
I am thinking Sjoerd has the right idea. Wish I could just go to bed and leave a wake up call for when the temp is below 100 and we have rain. Haven't had rain, real rain, since July 3rd and we are just ending day 8 of 100+ temps with at least 7 more of those days coming.
Just to add a technical spin to this: traffic always starts to dip around August-time. I can see it on the traffic graphs every year, the same curve pattern. It's the time of the year when people start to concentrate less on gardening and focus more on stuff like getting kids ready for school. Also a lot of countries' summer weather has ended. So in conclusion: business as usual
Busi-ness is the right word. We're busy getting ready for autumn. Yesterday we took a trip to strawberry lovers' heaven. Photos will come, but I can't tell when. And we're still working on the north side as well as on the south side and the west side. The east is done.
