Its in my will, they go, quietly, into moraine lake near lake Louise in Banff National Park. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
That's the most beautiful resting place I have ever seen. I just might have to join you there or be there to meet you when you get there.
What a perfect spot you've picked Kildale. I still haven't made up my mind exactly where I'll end up but I'm sure it won't be as beautiful as your last resting place.
Absolutely beeeeeeeeeeutiful. I have skied at Lake Louise and we stayed at the Banff Springs hotel, and it was just so breathtakingly gorgeous. I also have my final resting place, or scattering place already planned. The children know, as does everyone else. I will be taken to Westward Ho! in North Devon, the place where I spent every summer holiday of my childhood, and a lot during my adult life so far. There, my ashes will be sprinkled into the wind over the beach, but the sprinkler has to be eating my most favourite ice cream - a Hockings Clotted Cream icecream, made locally, the most devine ice cream in the world. I hope it isn't for many many years yet, but as you never know, I thought it best to make sure everyone was aware of my requirements.
I have snow shoed on Lake Louise, moraine lake is on the way up to the lake, but the ski area is not near the lake. We lived in Calgary and went to Banff quite often.
Oooh, lovely! You got me in a proper R. L. Stevenson mode now: Requiem: UNDER the wide and starry sky Dig the grave and let me lie: Glad did I live and gladly die, And I laid me down with a will. This be the verse you 'grave for me: Here he lies where he long'd to be; Home is the sailor, home from the sea, And the hunter home from the hill. Robert Louis Stevenson. 1850-1894
What a gorgeous resting place. Some of my ashes will be scattered in the family plot of my biological dad (whom I never knew, that is a long story for another time) and some in my birth mothers family cemetary. They are both in the country (east Texas) and albeit a beautiful area, they can't top yours Kildale.
