I was working out in the storage yard today and found this walking stick perched on a piece of plywood standing by the gate. I took the first picture in the sun. Can you tell which is the real walking stick and which one was wrought by the sun?

A pair of excellent shots of the Stick Insect Dooley. My daughter used to keep some as pets - well that is until they bred. We ended up with dozen upon dozen of tiny babies which we decided to donate to a small zoo in the area before we became completely overrun with them.

Great pics. I can't remember the last time I saw one "up close".

I like those insects. :D My grandchildren kept some for pets and also got lots and lots of eggs which were returned to the pet shop in exchange for other stuff.

Those are amazing little bugs. One of the local libraries will display an aquarium filled with them.
I've often wanted to ask if I can have a few for my
yard, but always chicken out. That one in your photo looks like it's missing a front leg, wonder if they grow back?

I like walking sticks...they are hard to find at times because they blend in so well near a tree or branches...great pictures

I love praying mantis. I never seem to see any walking sticks though. I guess they blend in too well for me to pick out. Love the picture, especially the shadow shot.
