    Storytime again...

My silly ol' (departed) Uncle Frank loved his White Dinner Plate Hibiscus. And who could blame him... take a look at just one of the blooms from a couple of years ago.

This past Fall, while helping clean out the flower beds over there, I got some seeds and gave my hand at getting some started.
About a month or so ago, my aunt decided it was time to sell his old truck. Hubby and brother went over to clean it up and make sure it was ready for sale.
They brought back all sorts of stuff they got out of it! Old tools, bucket full of nails, weed-eater string, etc.
Hubby grabbed me the old bucket and this old bicycle pump before my brother could get to it!

You could find Uncle Frank all over town(s) towing his tractor around cutting folks' grass/pastures... just to help out. And he loved his flower beds!
    Oh yeah... flowers...
Well... I managed to get one of the seeds to grow well enough to plant it. But there was one problem. It needed protection from me dragging the water hose back and forth. I thought about going and buying some more of those hose guides. Nah. Then I thought about dragging out some more of the busted old concrete from my dad's old workshop. Nah... that didn't seem right either.
Decided to go look at the pile of stuff they got out of Uncle's truck to see if there was something there I could use. Bingo! Found what I needed!

I wasn't going to paint them or anything... just leave them all rusty. But I just couldn't help myself!
    :D

Amazing, simply amazing. You have a talent for garden art. I'm sure the Hibiscus feels more secure.

If I put junk in my lawn/garden thats all it would look like. JUNK! You have such a knack to make it look awesome. You do inspire me to try though.

Ditto what Carolyn said. I got crafty once and put an old hoe leaning against a tree, with a vine growing up it. People kept asking me why I didn't put my tools away.
If I had your knack Cheryl, my garden would be a lot more interesting.

Jerry... I'm certain the Hibiscus sighed a breath of relief! Sometimes I just don't pay attention to where the hose is.

Eileen... I can't wait until it's old enough to start blooming. If I'm lucky maybe next year?

Thanks Carolyn! I guess a little paint goes a long way!

Jane... I just had to laugh at your comment about not putting the tools away! :D

Thanks again for the nice words.

I'll be more than happy to share seeds from it! Even if mine takes a year or so, I can always go to my aunt's and get seeds in the later part of the year.
No extra niceness required.... but it wouldn't hurt! :-D

Hmmm.... maybe I'll just hold out on the seeds for as long as possible to get every iota of niceness out of you! :D
