I live in NY with the usual wildlife squirrels, chipmunks,rabbits,deer,etc.. Nothing is fenced in first something was nibbling on my newly planted coneflowers so I moved them to different spot then planted lupines and they've have been devoured in two days yet the daylilies and blackeyed susans have been left alone. Any suggestions on what did it and how to prevent it again ??

Just about any of those critters will eat plants so there really is no way to tell for sure unless you catch them in the act.
Some plants are not ones that critters are interested in eating so that would explain why the Daylilies and Rudbeckia have been untouched.

I have heard that if you plant the undesirable plants around the perimeter of your garden that will keep critters away from the more desirable ones.
A really tall fence will take care of most of the problem.

I have the same problem at work and I haven't decided if it is the work of rabbits or deer ... they are both plentiful. The rabbits seem to eat the lower leaves and the deer take care of the tops. Maybe they work together ;)
