This is about 20 mile north of us. The storm was covering a good portion of our county and we were at the very edge of the red zone on the radar.
I am so fortunate tonight. I could hear this storm north of us, but we weren't getting most of it, just some hard rain. I haven't been across the road, but I sure hope out corn is still standing.

Fingers crossed your corn was missed by the storm too. I'm glad it passed you by and I hope it didn't do too much damage where I hit.

I am so glad that we didn't get the brunt of the storm. all I could do was pray my garden would be safe and spared from the wind and damage. I can't imagine what those people have to clean up. The volume of the thunder was incredible. The lightening was coming down on each side of our house...like it was two separate storms coming through, while we were getting just some rain.

We got a good storm last night too. At one point (and I was outside for it!) a 60 mph wind gust came through! We have a lot of trees around our yard so the wind didnt actually hit me, but it was wild watching it blow over the top of the trees!

I hate to complain about the rain... but does someone else need some? I'll be happy to pray it your direction. we were hammered again this evening. It seems to be never ending and the corn needs weeded.

Us too, but I think it is every 3 days, here. My husband runs an excavating business.... it is impossible to get 3 full days in a row of work right now. It is raining again this morning and the creeks and ditches are over flowing, but I am thankful we don't live any farther north than we do. the red on the radar was covering all of the northern part of our county and cuyahoga county on over Lake Erie all of yesterday and last night. Dh called me to tell me to move the hose in the driveway before the dumptruck drove out and as he was commenting it the conversation went from "the hose in the driveway (pause for a second) the pond is overflowing at Strimples old house and flooding Blackstones new blacktop drive"...I said "what does the hose have to do with the overflowing pond at strimples?" I am amazed at how his brain can switch topics without missing a beat.

KK, I can't imagine the mess of no sump pump because of no electric. Kevin was just working at someones house (where he worked last year) and the guy is upset that his sump pump runs all the time on and off on and off, it just doesn't quit. Well, come to find out his house is built on and old streambed and the water table is way too high under his house. his basement has flooded twice and now he can't get flood insurance and he is upset at Kevin?!?!?!? because he isn't hearing what he wants to hear about the root cause and fix of the problem. Last Fall Kevin put in the biggest sump pump he could buy to keep up with the water and the guy doesn't like the noise.

Had a tornado touch down in my city yesterday. Tornado sirens going off every so often. Storm was moving from southwest to northeast. I live in the northeast part of town, but my sister and I had decided to visit my dad in the southeast part of town, so it passed right by us.

Its greying up again now though. Supposed to rain every day this week :/

Spoke too soon, I should say "its raining now!" haha

Hi Carolyn. I am glad you are all safe. I saw some of that on the weather channel.

Maybe your husband's friend is just worried about his home being in a bad place, and doesnt know what to do--even though your husband told him. How would one even fix such a problem ? I am sure any way you do it would take tons of money.
