On the way home from the post office yesterday I told DR that we should take a picture of the yellow flowers in the big wash. We have to cross this wash every time we go out the Main Street way. To the post office, library or toward the south. Anyway, here are two pictures of the wildflowers. The first is the yellow ones. Several different varieties I think, including the Jerusalem Artichokes. Next is some datura that is growing along the street in front of the wildflowers. Those red grasses dry beautifully and mix in well for fall arrangements. Dooley
Yellow flowers are so pretty in the fall.I've taken pictures of blackeyed susans but I think the Goldenrod is the prettiest. It also has the pollen that gives everyone around here breathing problems. Wannabe
Dooley that first photograph would make a great jigsaw!!! What wonderful scenery - the yellow of the flowers really stands out. :-D I can't grow Datura's here as it's usually too cold for them but I do love them - maybe some day if I get a greenhouse I'll try growing them again.
I really like that first picture. So nice. The yellow contrasting with the barren appearance of the hills beyond. Good job. muddy
whoo, that top one looks like a river of yellow, beautiful! Our wildflowers are all bloomed out here, Not my metal image of Arizona, I always think dry & brown, is this a northern part of the state?
My daughter being a new driver does all the running around. If I had a view like that I'd make the run lol.
What it looks like in Arizona depends on what altitude you are at and how much rain there has been. Not all is the dry desert. This picture is at about 4200 feet above sea level. Our temperature runs about 15 degrees cooler than Phoenix because we are 3000 feet higher. Flagstaff is different again as it is at 7200 feet. Tall pines prevail there and they get a lot of snow in wet years. Weather here is given by the altitude. dr
A lot of my family lives in Az. In 1996 we had a family reunion in Flagstaff, Mesa, and Phoenix. it was 102 felt like high 70. Very dry!! My hair, skin, lips took weeks to heal from cracking . We all get together every year or two. I make sure I drink alot of water.
I love to see wildflowers decorate the landscape .They make it a huge and beautful bouquet of the hills and dells.
Stunning colours. Here in Essex, things are looking very green at the moment so your photos are very welcoming!
I love wildflowers more than anything we can put in the ground. The design and plant pallette is always perfect. Thanks for letting us see yours.
When we get a heavy rain, That wash runs a river of water instead of yellow flowers. In the desert country, change is constant. Mbe why I like it so well. dr
