When you reach the bottom of the path into the campground there is an acre size plot of Jerusalem artichokes. They have had a lot of rain this year so they are 10 to 15 feet tall. Growing around and among them are these two foot white flowers. I don't know what kind they are but they attract all kinds of bees, wasps, bugs and butterflies. I've taken some individual pictures and then a couple of group pictures so you can see how many there are. First, the flowers and then the butterflies. In these next two pictures I zoomed in so this is about a three foot section. I hope you can see how many butterflies are here and then multiply it by about an acre. We want to go back with our friends when there are not so many people around and listen to the silence in the place. When everyday is filled with noise silence is special. dooley
There are all kinds of different color butterflies. It is so nice to see such wonders of natures. The quiet would be heavenly.
What an amazing park! Certainly not what I picture when I think of Arizona in August! btw, don't think I've mentioned it, but you are really an amazing photographer!
