I have ordered some ladybugs that will be here tomorrow. The problem is that no one will be home between 2-6. That is usually around 100 degrees. I know that I am suppose to release them at night, and put them in the fridge until then, but will they survive on my porch in that weather without shade, water, etc.?

Could a neighbour take them in for you and put them in their 'fridge until you get home? If not a family member or friend might help you out.
You could leave an upturned clay pot in the shade where the postie will see it with a note telling him/her to put the package under it.

Yikes I do not think so. Like eileen said. Maybe a neighbor would take them in until you get home. No garage they might put them in? That would be a little cooler. Hope it works out for you and those little ladies. :stew1:

You could leave a cooler on the porch with an ice pack in it and a BIG note on it for the delivery person... I think a neighbor would be the best idea though.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Unfortunately, I live way out in the country, my neighbors would have to keep driving over to check. Hopefully they are delivered before 2 but if not I will have an ice chest ready. Thanks again!!

Phew thank goodness they arrived and you were able to tend to them yourself. :-D Now let's hope that when they're released into the garden the aphids will all get eaten.

For moisture the Ladybugs can get their water from a moist(not soaking) paper towel.
