Cor, I imagine Eileen will agree, but over this side of the pond we have had some serious weather over the weekend! We have had very stong winds - glad to say we personally didn't suffer any damage, but there are masses of reports of trees coming down, flooding, people loosing power and damage to houses. Hope all is well with you Eileen!

My parent's are getting it too EJ. My father absolutely hates wind, poor guy can't sleep at all these days.

Make sure you are holding onto something at all times, we don't want any Stewbies blowing away

EJ the River Almond's banks have broken here in the village and as the river is only about 200 yards from our home I'd be seriously worried by now if we didn't live on high ground.
Many trees, slates from roofs etc have blown down. Fields are flooded and some horses were stranded on a hillock and had to be rescued. They were tethered to boats and encouraged to swim to safety. All were unharmed but suffered from slight hypothermia.
The only thing that's happened to us is that the polyanthus in my hanging baskets got plucked out of the soil and thrown around the garden but other than that we've suffered very little damage - so far!!
We seem to be in for more gales and torrential rain over the next few days. So keep your fingers crossed for us won't you. :-D

Wow Eileen! Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I know how scary it is when bad storms or rains hit. They seem to be happening here more and more...

You guys are going through a rough patch of bad weather. I do hope you come through relatively unscathed. Keep the kids and the pets safe, and, of course, yourself.

That storm seems to hit people in different ways but is really bad. The only good thing is it seems to be fast moving and doesn't stay around long. Hang in there. Wannabe

The wind was fierce here but we missed the rain and snow. Hang in there and better times will come. It's a strong belief engrained in us all. Dooley

There's something about high winds that make a person very uneasy. Here's to cold sunny days this winter.

Well another bad day is forecast here tomorrow! I think the fear of high winds in the damage and estruction is causes. I love to hear it blowing through the trees, and at the same time worry about the tree coming down! I have the day off work tomorrow and am popping into town to get blown about and do some Christmas shopping!!!!

Wear heavy shoes, EJ, to hold you down. :D
Hope you find all you're shopping for, I confess I haven't started yet. :-?
Hubby and I keep it pretty minimal,
although we can never resist putting a few surprises under the tree.

Wow what a windy night! Branches and debris everywhere this morning on the school run. The rain was coming down in torrents and all the poor children were soaked through! I don't know why they aren't allowed in school when it is raining in the mornings....think I need to go have a chat with the headmistress!

Finished my Christmas shopping - HURAH! We always get very carried away and are as bad as the children, but it is my most favourite time of year.
