The other patch of glads are opening up. This patch started out as 10 bulbs for $1.00 at the Dollar General Store....I bought them about mid-summer, figured what the heck it couldn't hurt to see what happens.
they are multiplying more, growing taller and the bloom stalk is larger than the other patch that I bought at a garden center for a lot more. Dollar General didn't have any this year, but when I get to thinking about how much dividing I will be doing this fall I guess it is a good thing they didn't

I love the color, so rich - I only have a couple glads and was thinking of adding a few more, I'll have to watch for something like this.

I love gladiolas. I had white ones in my wedding bouquet with tiny red roses. That was 45 years ago, almost. Dooley

There is a bright red one opening up out there now and three more wine colored ones. I like this patch most because of the darker colors.

Fab colour! My mums most fave flower as it was the first bunch of flowers my dad gave her when they were courting! I have a patch in my garden but won't expect to see them in flower until mid August! Fantastic!

A good deal if I must say so myself Toni. Dollar General must have been selling some sort of 'uber-Glad' ;)
